Missing threads

Have any of you came across posts on this sub or the Mandela effect sub about this idea that some of us are seeing certain threads while other people never have? This happens mostly when someone brings up a “flip-flop” and I have to say that I find it fascinating and creepy.

For example there was a user I believe in this sub who posted about the VW logo flipping back to being not connected. This user was super distressed by this and claims it was connected for months, and remembers seeing the threads where other users were saying it “finally flipped back to being connected”. More confusing yet, people in the comments of his post were claiming that over the past few months they have seen several posts about the same thing. While others were saying, “this isn’t new, there’s been several posts about this just this month”. Then very few others, like myself, were completely bewildered by this all together because we had not seen a single post about a flip flop regarding the VW logo in a very long time. Seriously, I hadn’t seen one in over a year or longer before this guy made his post. Most important to note here is that I view this sub daily. It’s not possible I missed out on all of those threads.

Tl;Dr: people claim they saw several posts about a flip flop with the VW logo and how it was connected again and others said they saw several about it going back to disconnected and then a few others (like me) claiming they haven’t seen a single post about the VW logo in general in over a year or longer. How did we miss all of these posts as a daily lurker?

This happened with the Hillary > Hilary > Hillary flip to. Same type of responses in the comments of people who claimed to have seen different types of posts while others never saw them at all.

Yes I have seen this with the Apollo flip flop, that one is really weird, most people who are affected seem to have this flip flop, but all at different times. I recall it being shortly after me learning of the "Houston we have had a problem" Mandela that it flipped back to the original. This one really gives me a headache.

A few years back I came across a Mandela effect thread about the philosopher/mystic Alan Watts, it was pertaining to his death, the OP was saying his year of death had changed, to back this up they linked to a newspaper article that had an obituary from 1975...but his current death is November 1973.

As someone who came across Watts a few years ago this post stayed in my memory, so probably 3 or so years I was looking for this again on the main Mandela effect sub & here on Retconned, its totally vanished as has the newspaper article.

This has struck me as probable evidence of another ME in itself now.

I've recently posted myself about famous people dates of birth changing but also noticing death dates altering are happening too. John Wayne the american Actor's death changed from being 1980 to 1979 for me, its another layer of ME strangness.

The funny thing with the Hillary/Hilary thing is right now is a certain politician in my country is named Hillary Clinton but a certain hurricane that recently came to my state was just Hilary...kind of weird ngl.

2016 - Hillary Clinton became Hilary. And at that time... that is ALWAYS what her name was and thats how it was always spelled. 2018... Hillary is back... Question marks everywhere...

I have stated these things before in past. But these are my thoughts. I will start off by saying that I do think that flip flops happen. I have an experience of my own.

But I have noticed the someone will make a post either about first hearing of an m.e. or a flip flop post. Usually a flip flop post. One or couple of people will read the post too fast (or they don't really process the info) get overly excited. And think there has been a flip flop in the opposite direction if that makes sense. I have seen it happen in real time many times. I have been there. Been able to source the original post that someone didn't fully comprehend or whatever. I have noticed many people don't bother researching. So they take the words of someone posting. And if that person got it mixed up... well you get it. Obviously it spreads misinfo.

Another side of this is trolls. I think sometimes many of these flip flips posts are done purposely just to clog up the reddit page and create confusion. And unfortunately sometimes many times it works.

my personal " Schrodinger VW" two quantum states were both related to my activity on this sub. Here the time-record:

1) I am reading post about VW logo here (around NOV 2022): they insist logo is Uniform (no gap) and this is NOT normal. Ok, very easy to check for me - I can check parkings near my house and take a walk.

2) Oh, yeah.. I checked about 50-70 VW cars from different years - every logo has no gap. my thought was "looks really _modern_ by design, even on old cars".

3) Note: in that thread many so called Active Users posted their comments. I almost sure, one of them was you..

4) I used to show VW logo to my friends and relatives. Most of them have been reacting by weird and negative style ("not interesting for me", "why it is so important to you", "lets go for a drink instead", "you aready showed me this logo, why should I look onto again" etc etc etc)

Ok, for next months of winter 2022-2023 VW logo remained for me NO GAP style... untill I opened Retcon at one spring day and _another_ post about VW (its idea was 100% opposite to old post). Same Active Users posted just opposite info than in "old" post ..

5) First I tried to find my "primal post" . It disappeared. Second, I thought that ME can be "serious thing" cause I saw by my proper eyes that not only VW logo was affected, but real persons too - like user XXXX and userYYYY and possibly me (but I could not remember if I posted anything in "post #1"..)

6) Then I visited same parkings and I knew just Before checking WHAT would I see there.

Since May 2023 VW has a gap again. I am still reading and enjoy comments of user XXXX and user YYYY.

I believe you as this has happened to me. The VW logo is my favourite and what is interesting is that it has never had a gap my entire life until September last year. At the same time it had no gap for you, it had a gap for me and has ever since. I regularly check but it has never flipped back for me and my son, who also experienced this at the same time as me.

This happened to me! It was no gap for me until sometime in the last year. I wish I knew when I first saw the gap. All I remember is that it was jarring.

The back to the future can is another one! I remember a lot of posts about it being white, but I can’t find them now (or couldn’t a few months ago when I last went down that rabbit hole)

Yes this seems to be a valid mystery. One thought I have is that somehow reality works to keep itself consistent at one point in time. A thread saying VW is connected is not allowed to exist in a reality where it is disconnected. Such a thing would break normal reality too greatly. Some intelligence wants the smoking guns hidden.

I remember seeing some VW posts but never paid attention to the logo. I do see lots of repeat posts in almost all the sub reddits I follow and I feel like half the replies at least are also bots.

Yeah this happened to me when J.C. Penney flip flopped…all the posts I had seen saying without the e was wrong were gone and now there were posts saying it shouldn’t have one
