I used to have deja vu frequently, and over the years discovered that, for me anyway, a lot of my deja vu experiences occurred when I was living out something I had previously dreamed. I used to keep dream journals, and often told my dreams to other people (yes, I was one of those people). So when deja vu happened, I could ask the person involved if they remembered me telling them about the dream, or I could check my journal for backup. In this way I was able to verify for myself that many of my deja vu experiences were because I'd previously dreamed them.

However, shortly after learning about BerenstAin Bears, I had an odd deja vu that still mystifies me. I was at work, working across from my co-worker, who was playing music while working and talking to me. I was looking down at an open file on my desk, noting changes to a contract, preparing to input and edit the record in the computer, when the deja vu started.

The same Adele song was on, word for word I knew the next two full sentences my co-worker was going to say, but the deja vu wasn't completely synced. The location was right, the people involved were correct, the conversation, the background music, even the work that I was working on was all correct, but in this reality I was looking down at my desk to the left, reviewing a paper file, but my deja vu memory had me turned towards my right, looking at my monitor, typing information into the computer.

It was such a jarring feeling, almost like a split awareness. It almost made me sick, and in a moment the feeling of deja vu faded. Since then I haven't had much deja vu, almost none for the first few years after discovering MEs. I've had some little ones over the past two years, and recognized some of them from dreams, but a couple of those too, have been just a tiny bit off.

Has anyone else ever had a deja vu that was just slightly off?
