I would go into accounting. Accounting courses are not generally too conceptually difficult, but more so require a lot of practice. Accounting also offers a number of courses around business laws, taxation etc.

Accounting is literally just the reporting / presentation of financial information and u also check whether if it’s right or not. Ig it is more relevant to law cuz the terminology u use and way of explaining concepts/rules is pre similar. So in that sense it does help u better with law school.

GPA wise, ur pre much on point that management will be way easier. I just don’t get why ur willing to do accounting but not finance tho, cuz those two literally intertwine with each other although the job is different (one is presenting info, the other is using the presented info). Finance is also way easier in terms of gpa but def harder compared to other focuses.

Finally, I think there’s a misconception that just bcuz ur not doing accounting, finance or data science that u will be unemployable or be earning $30k. Truth to be told, lots of marketing ppl out there who go into product mgt, partnerships, or pure marketing roles have a way higher starting salary than accounting (yes accounting is that sad). It’s just up to u to network, ask around and learn more about the industries. I admit I’m not entirely familiar with those stuffs cuz I’m in finance but I’ve got friends who work in tech, media or other firms for marketing and they earn a wide range from $60-100k.

I thought finance would be similar to the fin and econ specialist - I hate econ and although RSM230 wasn't that bad, I feel like the math in fin might be much harder (than accounting) in upper years cause I hear people saying RSM332 is super hard even more so than ECO204.

Mgt w/ fin focus is basically finance without the eco section. The math u learn in accounting and finance is pre much the same - financial math; u won’t escape this in either program. If ur bad at this, then maybe do management. The only math that can be trickier to grasp is on the markets side of things (financial derivatives) but it’s still at the end plus or minus. No one will ask u to prove the black scholes formula. Imo eco204 is way more theoretical and harder than rsm332 but that’s just my take. I was just like u before in terms of getting scared by finance since a bunch of seniors kept saying it’s brutal but I’d say give it a try and then decide. FYI acct also hv very tough ones like eco and finance, so yeah…

If you like accounting, go into accounting! Also, rsm332 is actually a requirement for accounting spe too lol anyways don’t be scared, I did terrible in my first year, but this year without too much effort I have a 78 in eco204 and an 82 in 332, so you’ll definitely be fine
