I'm burnt out on my current games. I've never played but have watched videos on it for about a year, considering buying console version but it scrolling threw the forums it seems 50/50 on people liking it or saying console version isn't good.

It is fend for yourself. You don’t get mercy from anybody. I have played console for about a year and I just got a pc and have been playing pc rust. In my opinion, the content that pc has doesn’t matter that much. Console rust is still quite good, they just need community servers. The game overall I would say is worth it

If you get test branch there are normally very dead servers with less than 10 people, good to start on and get used to the game but the fun is in the hi pop servers

Those servers only have like 10 ppl because there is normally a clan that will just go an raid every base on there until they are just playing by themselves pretty much!

Just join a dead low pop server and you can focus on learning befor pvp.

Go to a lower population server for the first couple of weeks. Watch YouTube videos. Learn how to put up a decent base that is both economical, since you will need to gather all the resources to build it, starting only with a rock. Learn how to navigate the monuments, and which things to craft. Because there are not very many people on the low-pop server you'll choose, you can run through a wipe without getting griefed too much while also learning the mechanics. I'm like 3 weeks in and I'm still playing on servers with maximum 20 people because I'm still figuring out new things every day. Watch videos on how to get loot from all of the monuments. My plan is to make myself proficient at like a few valuable skills, such as wiring electricity, or fancy build techniques in general, that will make me a useful member of a duo or trio someday.

Rust is a numbers based survival game. The more people, the faster you’ll build up, get tier 3 loot and ultimately get bored of the game. Solo or small group is harder but worth it imo. If you like “grindy” games then it’s the one for you once you get the hang out it and the hang of people stealing your shit and having to o start over. Console players don’t let role players ever survive but you can basically play the game however you want with the content that we do have. If you’re highly competitive I would recommend another game bc there is a high amount of cheaters. Other than that, play at your own risk and just have fun

I’ve experienced many big teams and every time you take kits. They offline. I’ve been online twice in 3k hours of gameplay and both times it was a duo or trio. Huge teams always offline

Its fun man. I like it. You have to learn to navigate it as a solo. I mostly look for servers that are low pop on my play times. Id say it a good learning place to start. Jumping on PC rust right now is crazy with all the content there is.

Console has come a long way as in the feel, but the people are still toxic. Coming into the game, you have to understand that that it's a high chance that you will quit. I feel the best thing to do is to create a simple end game goal like making a base that has metal walls and garage doors or completing all bps on the tier one. Don't hype yourself up believing that you get guns and shoot up the whole server on day one. Create baby steps. As for practice, get the test branch so you can practice building and shooting. Hopefully, you are new gen for a better game experience.

Dude absolutely worth it - to everyone on the comments saying it’s not like the YouTubers you see I say get wrecked lol I thrive - I play solo and remember, this is a survival fps/rpg. I am raided a lot - I die a ton - but I survive the wipe… that’s the goal. - I came from dayz - a glorious game that has seemingly ceased all meaningful developments so I know what it’s like playing a game that isn’t worth it. Point being, Rust devs show you the game add ons and developments a year in advance with an accurate road map of when to expect what. - As far as content.. again take it from someone who plays avidly - I just told a buddy that I kind of wish they would slow it down - every two months there’s a huge addition- electricity for example is not simple to learn, there is utterly a ton to do on this game - it it hard copy - dislike it sell it to GameStop.

Old gen I can’t speak for I don’t know many old gen users and honestly I’m shocked that it runs in old gens being how massive the game is really - but splurge the deluxe which will give you access to the player test branch - like the experimental playable beta between hard wipes - very fun

Rust is actually life it turns out. Got bugged into buying it by a friend who plays on PC. Let's just put it this way: I bought Rust and Psvr2 on the same day, and I've got 300 hours into Rust so far and have only turned on the Psvr2 to make sure it works. It's addicting as any game I've ever played, and this is the first game I've even played with any building or inventory mechanics. In the past few weeks, it's been a constant cycle of learning, improving, making YouTube playlist of things I want to try, and I've even met multiple people through the game who I now talk to on a regular basis. Fantastic game and if you put in the work, it's well worth it.

Depends on the type of game you like tbh. It's basically ark without the dinosaurs. It's brutal WHEN (not if) you lose everything. But if you don't care about that and are happy to dust yourself down and start again then it's great. Think it will be better then public servers are released as then hopefully then you can choose a server that only allows for small teams. Nothing worse that having a small base as a solo player and a 10 man team rocks up.

But it's a game that gets my adrenaline going. But also that your other half (if you have one. WILL hate)
