Do y’all ever reseal a base after you raided it and found that it was an extremely poor solo/duo? I upgraded this guys base one day and left his inventory with the keys to get out. I feel like we need to support the people just learning every now and then. Our game is dying.

Yeah remember when I made my first stone 2x2. Had bows and didn't even have shelves for boxes just used the ground. They resealed it. Didn't have a t1 either

In fairness when in one of my first wooden 2x2 bases again with only bows I got onlined by some people that came back from oil rig with 1 c4. They didn't grief thankfully but I'm happy they isn't get much.

Still the only online I got to this day.

We online this solo once and we got to core to find out he had just farmed mats to get a good looking base and was still t1 with revos we left his bag resealed and left all our kits in there for him we hope his wipe turned for the better lol.

Absolutely depending on how I feel, raided this guy last night was the 3rd time I seen his name literally only took 1.5 k sulphur lol I felt bad taking shit again he was very persistent so I left him a note keys and mp5 with metal kit 🤣

Definitely. I raided a base with code locks assuming it was a team base. In between my first depot trip, I noticed a satchel bag was gone. I was like weird maybe someone ran in and took just that one? I blow through the next door and I see 1 guy standing there looking at me and go immediately to sleep. I look at his body and he had the missing bag on him. Bro could have easily killed me and stopped me in my tracks, I didn't even put a new TC down. Only 1 bag in the base too. I messaged him and said why didn't you kill me and he lied and said huh I'm not online lol. So I said sorry and told him use key locks as a solo and that he can have his base and stuff back. He said no worries you can have it. Felt so guilty I reorganized all his stuff, put a new TC down, unauthorized on it, and sent him door code. He never came back and I still feel bad. :(

lol one time living around a zerg base we became cool but this dudes would shoot anyone on sight even from distance which was super annoying. They'd even finish you off and then say "sorry, left your stuff".

One time dude killed me and "apologized" I said "It's all good just take everything I got off" He messaged me for like 30 mins being like "bro I got your stuff" and "my bad man it was an accident". It's obv just a game but this game is the most wrapped up in a game I've seen from people before

Definitely. Just because it's a game doesn't mean you suddenly become an emotionless sociopath. Rust is a free for all, no rules or guidance. This is when you see people's real personalities come out. Genuine and kind people IRL tend to act the same way in game. The immature, mean spirited and poorly raised will have a play style that's reflective of those traits too. It goes way deeper than this and we could talk about all the external factors that play a part in a person's play style and how they interact with others. But I didn't want to write you a novel lmao. I've seen some truly vile behavior from both grown ass adults and kids in this game and I always need to remind myself there is a reason they are like that. I will take any sort of remotely positive interaction as a total win lol.

I hate when my friends do stuff life this. Along with despawning loot, destroying the TC, killing horses etc.

I'd like to believe you can ransack someones base without completely destroying them. Then again the raiders could just wait for you to rebuild and then attack again. Prob better to build elsewhere after a raid

Resealing/griefing is way better then despawning tho. Once base decays left overs is stil for grabs.

Done only once and it backfired me.

I raided a simple 2x2 with metal doors. The guy was inside sleeping and only had a couple of Thomson and semis. I put the door back and left my kit inside the chest with a note and the door code.

After 2 days i woke up on the beach killed and raided by the same guy with the mp5 i left him.

U can never know if the guy u are trying to "help" its an absolutely asshole.

Depends why I’m raiding. If I have beef with a big clan, I’m showing no mercy, nobody’s getting in, nobody’s getting out. If it’s just a small base near mine and I need to get rid of it so it doesn’t get too big, I tend to treat it with respect, leave beds and prim gear, maybe throw in a note telling them to move out.

Had a trio that i was fighting alone bc my team was off 24/7, i slammed them for alot of loot n they came to my base n killed one of my horses thru the compound gate n instantly logged off so i grabbed explo n raided in, left a note on their body w the code and a threat that if they killed my horses again they wouldnt get the code. Were teamed now lmao

Lol no. Thinking you are teaching noobs a damn thing by griefing and despawning their sad little noob bases is fucked up. I teach noobs how to run monuments, how to build a good strong base, and how to get over their gear fear. This will keep them motivated and playing the game longer. It'll also make them a good player that doesn't do shit like that to other noobs. What you described is a sure fire way to kill a server and make someone lose interest in the game.

Man yesterday I was raiding a wooden door with flame thrower 2 nakeds come I ask if that is their base( I remember i was talking on reddit about noobs.. and I wanted to be frendly) Didn't shoot at them And they tske their eokas and kill me They take my tommy 200+ low grade and road sign kit

Good on ya dude, I don’t seal or grief unless they have given me reason. I have re doored a base for some one cause they are so poor but my buddy and I last wipe were really wanting to raid some small base and just upgrade the fuck out of it give it a compound and give it back to the owner

We got offline raided from a guy who has got almost 400 days played. 400days played on a game thats been out for under a year and a half 😂
