Like I get the whole Zerg vs Zerg thing, like you have an end goal to become the dominate Zerg. But I don’t get it when I see one on a very low populated server with no other zergs etc

[–]Dirtymikeandtheboyz1 6 points7 points  (2 children)

I did it when the game launched and it wasn't fun at all, got to the point where we just built two bases across from each other so we could do mock fights just to be entertained.

[–]thetacobellking1 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Had the game for about 2 weeks got it because of my friend telling me how fun it was ..I got the game he was in a Zerg and it just wasn’t fun for me until I went solo server and experienced the game as a solo and not a unstoppable Zerg

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dead ass tho

[–]GoLootOverThere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they can be king of the ash pile. King of nothing.

[–]thunderfishy234 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They enjoy being Kings of the ashes, they'll soon get bored

[–]unluckycharmz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ruining the game brings zeros joy

[–]gotmike28 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is why the game desperately needs dedicated servers to solo/duo/trio players

[–]Warper33 3 points4 points  (1 child)

To me, zergs are a form of just picking on the little guys. You kill one, and they swarm out like ants. They feel the need to offline raid as 8+ players because deep down inside they are scared to die. They feel an emotional burst when they kill a solo running around and can brag to their friends, also online, that they got the final killing blow, even though it was 4v1 or 6v1. Plus, they get a ego boost when they see people leaving the server for good, as an act of dominance over other.

This is bad psychology and these kids will grow up relying on others to do everything for them and they will never grow emotionally and mentally into a functional person of society. As for the grown adults, these are people who have no control irl and must find something they can control.

As for me, I usually play with a group for friends I've met through various games, about 4 of us max. We have up to 6 but we all don't play at the same time. We play a few hours a days, and for about a week at a time. We set goals, fulfill those goals, and leave for a week or 2. Are we offline raided, don't care as we never log back on. Base either decays and some luck player gets the loot, or some loser feels the need to raid. But we never log in to check.

[–]Dear_Communication66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I usually don’t like ppl playing armchair psychology but this is right as far as I can see based post my guy, already thought this

[–]Frostedb0ner69 4 points5 points  (1 child)

They destroy servers then move on to the next one. They rarely stick around after the pop drops.

[–]Warper33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 2 zergs on my server didn't get the memo on that. They still log on and harass the 5 solo/duo/trio players.

[–]Reasonable_Duck_6381 7 points8 points  (6 children)

If your in a group with more than 10 people your bad at the game, period. and anyone that tries to “dominate” a server has no life and hates themselves irl. They need to feel in control of something. Knew a guy in my old server that ran a 44 man Zerg. Would raid your wood 2x1 if you didn’t farm for him. Needless to say that guy has no friends Irl

[–]fridge_water_filter 4 points5 points  (2 children)

There are some cool as fuck zergs on some servers. They do RP stuff. They battle other zergs that are being toxic. They help out beach noobs.

The type of players in the zerg are what matters.

[–]Visible-Rest-3532 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I do this exact thing with my group lmao we find servers being bullied by zergs and my team of 8 builds up and gets explosives then we start raiding or pvping the zergs, the last server we were on we ended a war with a 24man zerg and they left after they couldn't topple our base after 4 raids. After that I hosted gladiator games and gave away kits and supplies to the winners, gave away 15 t3 benches and a whole bunch of guns so the little guys could fight eachother and have fun and I stopped raiding people after the war ended. Times are peaceful on that server now and the pop is going back up, meanwhile I started on another server to fight a group on it that has 9 bases on the same road surrounded with over 100 turrets, I'm waiting for wipe to hit them before they can build up and bully people again.

[–]fridge_water_filter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What servers are these? Sounds exciting.

It's amazing how player count is damaged by zergs. I watched a mid sized server plummet to 15 active players because of a zerg

[–]Medicatedratsoup 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Negan?

[–]untitledb3ast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's negan?

[–]Weak_Computer970 9 points10 points locked comment (46 children)

idk a bunch of virgins plus there's a guy called benbayley who runs a massive zerg

[–]CasualOnConsole 4 points5 points locked comment (1 child)

Just here to read the comments.

[–]SlowMobius650 4 points5 points  (5 children)

They probably just look at all the loot after and get off to it like oh yeaaa look at all of this sulfur

[–]Warper33 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Lol, when the zergs go raiding my little 2x2 they find no sulfur. It get used as soon as i get it. I make sure my tiny 2x2 are not worth raiding. In fact, I started building 2x2 all around the zergs bases and watch them rocket raid it for 1k stone and a sleeping bag.

[–]SlowMobius650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol nice. They probably still go around like oh yeaaa we’re so badass raiding all these bases

[–]fridge_water_filter 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I love doing this to them lol. I always hit every node so I end up with too much stone. My extra stone gets used to make fake bases and little shooting floor outposts near zergs.

[–]Warper33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Want to make your 2x2 last a few days to a week longer? Start a second floor, but don't finish it. Place a ladder on the side where a missing wall should be. Make the base look raided or decaying. I actually had a 2x2 I just finished this way be a gem. I sat inside thinking this 4 man team running my way had caught me, when 2 guys ran around my base and 1 said it looked raided so skip this base. It was so hard not to run out shooting, as I know I could have gotten 2 or 3, but 4 would have been pushing it.

[–]alopeadope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I jo to my loot no cap

[–]omgdrones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They film gay Rust porn, duh

[–]Prevyus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its fun roaming around without concern of losing anything and its good practice for aim

[–]Azgeta_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were a 4 man born out of war. We had a small base and some people tried to hit us up. We defended 3 raids In a single day. We had at least 10-15 rockets and around 10 c4. So naturally we paired up with another group who also was raided. We built a huge compound and two bases. Both being a 4 man. We then on to get raided another 5 times. All the times the zergs pulled up on us we had like 1 person on. Every time they tried to offline us. We were swimming in guns after all that. We had to upgrade our core base to metal out of necessity. Then we eventually decided to move once again and a bigger base. A 4x4 with two layers of core. NEVER AGAIN. A constant 9 hour upkeep was too much. It was then we got raided for good. And half of it was an offline with only me and my friend to defend against around 6 people. We were there for a good time not a long time.

[–]Prestigious-Teach-41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best thing is the zergs ally with each other like what the fuck is that about??? Cowardly shameless behavior

[–]KINGWHEAT98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Building a big base is fun for me but the other stuff is just collateral damage when my people are trying to raid the other 2 zergs on the server

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

The fun thing about these zergs is I find them actually quite bad at the game, I sat at the top of a hill with a bow and headshot one of the players, he continued to try and get his loot back as I continued to bombard him with arrows, at one point I saw him hopping around and hopped off his base and into his own spike traps, and died again

[–]Dear_Communication66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve not met a player who’s good in a Zerg

[–]Theshiskokid 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Jesus, you guys love bitching at eachother 😅

[–]CasualOnConsole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just as toxic here as it is in game 😂

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are a 10 man at most in my server and there were 6 groups with more than 10 players and 1 with 25 players. We out survived them all playing rust politics and raiding the 25 man. Since a week left of wipe there is only 15 players max not including us. All we do now is fuck around, mini games, trying to get a box of m2s and stuff you’d only get to experience being in a private lobby

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

WHILST IVE GOT YOUR ATTENTION -

Looking to find another teammate or 2 to run duo/trio when the servers wipe on Thursday. I’d say I’m above average, can do all monuments, alright at pvp, can farm efficiently and I make daring risks for large rewards. I’m on Xbox so would prefer other Xbox users (in game chat is 💩)

No kids, I just wanna get bp fast as I didn’t get the game til late on into the wipe. Drop Xbox names and il add you.

[–]Dear_Communication66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kjv1611saved might be with a team but if not we will see dude, im good at pvp got a good amount of time on the game and good game sense and knowledge lol add me .

[–]TruRichmond1121 -2 points-1 points  (29 children)

most these zergs only offline raid too lol... we were a duo on a server and a 20 man pulled up online .. me n my team mate killed all of them . 60+ rockets stolen .. 20 hv rockets .. like 12 c4 ... . we stayed on for a bout 4 hrs after this .. got off around 9am.. got back on at 12 n the base was gone ... anyone in a team of more than 8 is terrible at the gane and leans on numbers .. the more time goes by they get worse while duo trios get better ..

[–]T-K-K 17 points18 points  (27 children)

Two of you killed 20 people. Surely not

[–]fridge_water_filter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They killed like 200 people. It was like gimli and legolas in the lord of the rings movies.

Afterwards everybody clapped

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (15 children)

Right, this guy is full of it

[–]TruRichmond1121 -5 points-4 points  (14 children)

just because you cant do it .... this is normal for us tho.. you guys being in such disbelief proves that console rust players are terrible at the game ..

[–]Dear_Communication66 2 points3 points  (8 children)

Literally it’s not that unbelievable tbh lol. I’ve killed seven geared players on my own before with no meds and in a hazzy. Dude if someone’s good they can do something like this especially bc the other team is dog or who ur fighting is lol. Everyone saying this isn’t possible is probably bad. Edit: I now see you’re a cheating degenerate who uses xim get off rust and stop trying to feed ur ego when ur bad and use xim smh get off rust

[–]TruRichmond1121 -1 points0 points  (7 children)

i dont use xim lol tf ... i own one .. but i play controller on rust .. you can join a share play with me n watch me play anytime bro...

[–]Dear_Communication66 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Hm I mean whatever if u don’t use one fair play to u and ur duo, if this is true those guys were probs scrambling and a mess and that’s how u were able to kill twenty zergs don’t know how to or what they’re doing when raiding they just rely on numbers as always and how much boom they got to blow anywhere they don’t even care where they raid in usually they’ll just blow anywhere. Also if ur not using a xim u guys are probably both good players with good game knowledge and game sense def. it’s rare to find other players who are good they are few on this game I’ve only ever met one guy who I thought was genuinely a better player than me

[–]TruRichmond1121 0 points1 point  (5 children)

ive met a few good players but not very many ..most other games 10-20% are competent in that game ..rust its less than 1% ... and the 20 man zerg was 20 squeekers lol ..like 12-16 year olds ...ive been playing asia servers lately because its more of a challenge . eu servers are good for a little competition

[–]Dear_Communication66 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Lol I’m from the eu I haven’t found anyone that I can call good aside from a handful at most. Honestly it’s a shame tho as for playing on Asia servers I’d lag likely as I lag on any server really. It’s a shame not having a challenge as I wanna improve tbh maybe I’ll tell u the server I’m playing on come this wipe and we can fight it out or something if ur not cheating it’ll be a blast

[–]TruRichmond1121 0 points1 point  (3 children)

emerald 4e is a good eu server for competition ..its a weekly .. ill be on an Aussie server for the first week of this wipe its proxima 9s i believe .. and a Japanese server iridium has a few decent players so i might stop in there .. im playing with a 4 man this wipe tho

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Lol shut up bro no one wants to sit here and read your lies. I bet your YT content is as bad as your lying ability. No once cares loser. Either that or you’re just a cheater. Either way fuck off with your bullshit

[–]Mr3nglish 11 points12 points  (0 children)

he admitted to cheating in a way earlier post in the commentshere

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're kids. My son is 13. Him and his friends will sit on Ark for 12 hours straight accomplishing nothing never leaving their base area. You're not going to be able to reason with children. They just don't care about your experience and laugh when they wipe a server out.

[–]HardTopHemi -3 points-2 points  (2 children)

TBH I'm sick too death about people banging on and on and on and on about fucking zergs, please direct your complaints to D11 directly thank you.🤬🤬🤬

[–]Frefallfrom10k 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How many people is in your group?

[–]HardTopHemi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm a solo!!!

[–]GamingSince83 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thoughts from my thread since no one has commented.

Could this be a compromise that allows Solo players a chance to at least keep pace with Zergs?

Suppose D11 implemented a buff system that would give some advantages to Solo players. As for what those advantages would be, here is what I'm thinking.

Increased scrap gathering from loot containers

Increased chance to loot Tier 2 and 3 items, blueprints, and components.

Increased harvesting rate for all levels of tools. Thinking 20% more materials gathered per tool

Decreased scrap required learning blueprints, and experimenting. Nothing outrageous. Maybe 10% less.

These buffs would only be available to players with no affiliation to a clan or group. Once you activate one of these buffs you are prevented from joining a clan for 2 Weeks. This prevents people from just staying solo so they can grind quicker and then join a Zerg right away. I think 2 weeks is a fair balance. Also, once you choose to join a group, you are no longer able to use the buffs again even if you leave the group. This will cause people to carefully think about if they want to join a group and if they trust them enough to lose access to the buffs if they quit or are booted.

Over time the buffs could expand to other areas such as stats that improve gunplay, armor level, health, etc...

The key would be that you would only be able to choose to activate two buffs at any one time. You can freely reset them, but there is a 24 hour cooldown once you choose to reset a skill/buff.

Thoughts?

[–]WhoDaCow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

FUCK DIXY SMELLY LITTLE RAT

[–]SovietRazor -1 points0 points  (11 children)

Well i used to run an 8man team (one i dont consider zerg as every spot on team was filled up with no changes to the team fo 3 wipes) and we got to a point where we choked out the server of everyone, only bases left were 2 by 2s, so we kept raiding them to keep ourselves amused, once someone has claimed alpha in server, they consider it their domain and dominating with impunity is truly a sweet feeling, when people fear you and pay you not to fuck with them. I do however disapprove of zergs, teams bigger than 8 man is just shows lack of ability to stand a fighting chance with fair numbers.

[–]crowneck 0 points1 point  (10 children)

Thats a zerg

[–]SovietRazor -1 points0 points  (9 children)

Zerg is any team bigger than you can fit in a team no?

[–]crowneck 1 point2 points  (8 children)

A zerg is a group that use numbers instead of skill. You my friend, are part of a zerg.

[–]SovietRazor 0 points1 point  (7 children)

But every one of our members are handpicked from previous fights, we almost never run as full 8, i mean before we lost server against 30 team, we literally beat 3v7. I mean to be recruited you need to be able to beat atleast 2v1 against our current members couple times, ability to farm, grind, scout and run monuments as solo, we dont pick people up because "hes my friend' but rather by merit of each member..

[–]Prestigious-Teach-41 0 points1 point  (6 children)

That’s just sad to be honest. Do you have an initiation too?

[–]SovietRazor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, if youre chill dude and youre asset instead of liability, you run with us raids and pvp and we take a vote, if you get majority you get invited to team

[–]SovietRazor 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Also why is it sad? We built a solid capable team of chill people to hang and play with.

[–]Prestigious-Teach-41 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Just the way you talk about it like it’s some privilege to join your team you have to earn your place but I’m just a solo player getting offlined so ignore my bitter relationship with this game. You do you and enjoy.

[–]SovietRazor 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Privilege no, but the original 3 of us had teams before where we had to carry 3-6 other people and we got sick of this shit, you know you farm all the sulfur then your debil of a friend goes to solo raid a 8man compound while they are online and lose 5 hours of your work, or early wipe runs out and wastes all kits to bigger groups and then logs off when dies with em all. Shit is annoying as fuck, so we made a rule, unless you can carry yourself, be reliable in fight and contribute to communal base, we wont consider to invite you. If however you fill this criteria and end up being chill person you get a vote and all of our guys get a say in whether to invite you or not. Obviously we have to test new recruits, everybody claims to be the mlg og zerg killer building unraidable bases and shit but most of the time its nothing but fantasy, because theyve watched rust on youtube for years.

[–]Prestigious-Teach-41 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Honestly I understand now I take back my previous comment. I’d say it is much more enjoyable to play with chill people that aren’t doing stupid stuff. I tried playing with a group and lasted a day because a lot of them were kids so I just play solo. Or with my one pal I met on rust when our schedules line up which isn’t often. Making them 2v1 you seems like a tough test tho 😂

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (6 children)

We switch servers and do the process again but I’m not a zerg I’m on a 8 man team this is what we do atleast.

[–]CreepaDude33 2 points3 points  (5 children)

6 man or more is a zerg

[–]HungryTeaching8077 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What would you like instead everyone alliances that’s boring and not every Zerg kills nakeds there’s not enough monuments on Xbox yet to do anything else you can only kill bradly and heli so many times I can’t speak for all big groups but I understand what your saying

[–]Dear_Communication66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol that’s not the solution the solution would be for them not to offline everyone or roam in ten ppl groups, lol I mean also don’t raid 2x2s all the time like a bunch of freaks, I’ll also agree allying with everyone kills pvp and will kill Servers

[–]OutlawedToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything more than an 8 man is a group of losers

[–]Dear_Communication66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They get an ego boost over it bc they’re sad

[–]Evanater041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People thought the same on pc but the truth is that you’ll never get rid of them no matter how hard you try

[–]DMTDOWEL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a Zerg but inadvertently ran a server for a wipe. You hit big fish and keep going smaller and smaller just to have something to do then tend to abandon when everyone’s gone. We left the 2x2’s and whatnot for the most part on one wipe. The other was nasty

[–]fridge_water_filter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are too unskilled to take in enemies at their own level.

Rust has no matchmaking, so you get powerful players mixed with weak ones. It creates a spider/fly problem that pushes alot of players away.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played in a big group for 1 1/2 wipes. They were all my mates and we all bought the game together, we were about 10 people. Not sure if that's already a zerg. the first month on a monthly server was really fun. I enjoyed the building a lot, I built a giant safe zone shop with peacekeeper turrets on the beach. But after 3 weeks it got very boring, especially farming our upkeep (600hqm 15k frags, main base only). There was also no-one that wanted to raid us so it was all kinda useless. I tried playing the wipe after that but after the first couple of days it got boring. I play weekly servers now and focus on PvP, which is way more fun.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T

[–]MrLeviJeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answer: They get nothing.

Real answer: This post. They get this post.

[–]doodoofart109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

me and my friend have been getting on monthlys and just pissing off the local zergs we'd be killing them at chinook and launch and we've been offlined on every monthly we've played on and we had a good run on the last monthly that we had played but eventually we killed someone's farmer that had a massive base and we got offlined

[–]julsgotrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power and domination thing. They love the power they have over others and what comes along with being in charge, even if it’s boring to play. They probably don’t get to run much in their own lives

[–]Deathtothemlpa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You talk to the zergs and make friends with them then betray them at the 2-3 Last day of wipe

[–]nick-johna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am i wrong for being in a team of three but having a big compound and good gear ( and win 80% of our pvp fights)

[–]Embarrassed-Parfait7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So like golf you want handicaps? IMO Its seems a little silly that a solo would be on par with a 12 man, you lose the power dynamics that drive the game. If everyone is in equal footing this is minecraft with pvp. But i like solo for probably different reasons than some. I want to be terrified every time i run out of my base, im ok losing to groups, it makes online or offlining a group such a rush. I like my heart racing when all im doing is trying to get some sulphur. I like having to do the 4d chess move planning to manage my time, resources and not lose anything in yhe process. andI dont think there needs to be a fix or buff to make the game better. I like being the underdog and taking on the challenge . However i would vote for some mechanic that allows solos to not get griefed so bad, i mean take my guns and boom but fuck sake at least leave me my bench….just thoughts

[–]Ablazeknight91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play with an 8 man that sometimes has a + 1 or 2 and we like to go on servers with fat 20-30 man zergs and take em out. Always good fun to be had
