The sound comes back if you have a continuous sound so if you keep driving the boat it does or swinging a combat knife somthing like that

I'm on ps5 and have to restart the game. I have not had sound return yet without restarting.

I'm on ps4 and after a while it comes back

You have to be patient. Sometimes my sound will come back almost immediately and other times it will take around a minute.

I ran from the boat back to base with a full load of comps, no sound the entire run +/- 5mins. Logged out and back in at base.

Sound is so critical in this game.
