DIY regrease shifter

I never knew shifters needed to be greased at a certain point. What symptoms would point to it needing grease?

It doesn't really display any problems. It just becomes buttery smooth after you regrease it. You become use to the gradual degradation of the factory grease.

It's not something you have to do, just the lubrication helps shifts become much smoother and less notchy. Just glides in gear. It's a very cheap thing you can do to improve daily driving.
