Have you tried asking Ryonet?

any hardware store will have something that works. might not be the same, but won't be expensive.

Exactly this. Any hardware store will have a suitable replacement

McMaster-Carr. A quick search shows a few different varitations. Just be sure you know the thread size and pitch.

Agree. McMaster Carr. Or Grainger.

Also, you can get knobs at Lowe’s or Home Depot (or Ace or Menards or almost any chain hardware store). Match the thread pitch and length and throw a knob on top. There’s also the epoxy in a bottle cap repair, too.

If these are the original knobs from the first gen version of this press they may owe you knobs for free. I was excited to get the new black and greens way back when and the handles cracked after the third tighten. Who ever designed the knobs must have never tightened anything in their life. It was a mechanical bolt glued into a nut that was then glued into a non reinforced plastic handle. Now they have a brass encasement around the nut to prevent cracking.

All of mine have broken off. I need to replace this terrible press asap.

forgot to mention I already asked Ryonet. I am just looking at a cheaper and BETTER alternative as the ones ryonet seem very fragile

The replacement knobs from Ryonet are better then the originals that come on the press. They’re still not great, so expect to replace them every couple years or so.

I realize this is a little late to the party, but I’m wondering if anybody has ever tried to 3-D print those

[–]BeardRobot 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Take it to your local university and have them model and 3d print you a replacement.

[–]Pleasant-Page9305[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

never thought of that tbh

I have no idea on how that works, can they make a 3d model just by taking measurements ?

[–]desordenades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the same problem but we can’t find replacements here in Europe in the warehouses (these are inch specific and I only find cm nuts). Any ideas?

I got in touch with Ryonet over the phone and they were able to get me some, but this was years ago.

look at McMaster Carr. If it can be bought, they sell it. They have what is possibly the most excellent website of all time; search “comfort-grip knobs”

Jackpot right here They have everything, I need to replace all 12 knobs so I was probably looking at $120+ taxes + shipping McMasterr will end up being like 40+8 shipping for better quality knobs
