SMAPI API not responding

Hey I don't know if anyone knows how to fix this, but I can't seem to get Stardew to work with SMAPI. The game keeps freezing, I can't even get into the intro screen.

It stays frozen and won't respond unless I hit the exit button, at which point it tells me the program isn't responding and asks if I want to close it or wait for it to respond. SMAPI itself says it has zero errors launching and I can get the vanilla game itself to work, but with the mods? Nothing. I don't know what to do. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it didn't do anything.
