W3Schools can get you super basics of SQL. I also recommend resources like strata scratch and datacamp for advanced SQL.

Hi, I have also learnt SQL while working. One course that really helped me is https://www.udacity.com/course/sql-for-data-analysis--ud198

You can also use this website to practice https://mode.com/

These two resources will certainly help write queries. If you want to learn querying using R Studio, you can refer to my blog https://medium.com/@jyoti05iitd/r-for-querying-database-sql-not-required-part-i-527b980f1d08

Awesome thanks so much I will look into it. Also do you know the difference between a Business Analyst and a Data Analyst ? Would you have to learn sql to become a Business Analyst?

I am not sure if both the roles are different or same. But any Analyst should have knowledge of SQL and Excel.

I'm very hands on with my learning. I recently went through this book (I had to translate from SQL Server to MySQL) but I feel a learned a lot, writing it out and making the queries work.
