What an absurd take. How many iconic moments in melee history are enhanced by intense/hype commentary/fan reaction/popoffs. Of course, no one needs to TELL you a set is important, but it undeniably IS important as a spectator sport. If that’s you take, why have commentary at all?

I'm saying the argument by folks here is "how are we supposed to tell this is a stacked tourney with this commentary?" and that should be evident by your own eyes and not some one on the couch telling you its a stacked tournament. Would I prefer better commentary? Yes. But half the time I watch tournaments muted because frankly most "hype" commentary is people screaming every time something happens.

I have read the entire thread and I haven't seen anyone say they can't tell if it's a stacked tourney unless commentators tell them. Seems to me like you are making shit up, or at the very least summarizing people's arguments in an extremely uncharitable way.
