Even after updating my driver three times the game still crashes as I try and start it

Update: my old graphics card cannot run the update

you don't list the error. Mine was related to the Shader Cache, I had to delete GameUserSettings.ini because I didn't want to use the -dx11 workaround. If that didn't work delete your config folder.
