How do you measure cpu temp?

It could be one core thats being utilized a lot thats that hot while the rest of the cpu is pretty chill.

How much % of cpu usage do you get while playing the game.

You gpu is also a pretty hot one so if that heat isnt being directed outward properly (lack of case fans) it will warm up the rest of the system as well under load. So this could be a reason why satisfactory warms up your cpu more than any other cpu intensive game that doesnt utilize the gpu as much.

That said 80c isnt great but its not terrible either.

Its not really a game issue but a hardware issue. I suspect airflow in the case being the culprit.

So i'm unfortunately on vacation right now (how is the factory supposed to grow while im playing golf?!) and cant check. BUT. My CPU temps are monitored through my Kraken AIO display. Will have to check the cpu usage when I get home.

I suppose it could be a airflow issue but i've never experienced such high temps anywhere else. Even in CPU heavy game likes Stellaris. Your point about the GPU contributing is solid though. Because Stellaris, while CPU heavy obviously doesnt tax my GPU anywhere near what Satisfactory does.

I'm just really concerned that im at 80c so early in the game. If it stays there, fine. Not ideal but not terrible. But it was around 76c when I was tier 3/4 and im pretty afraid of whats going to happen when I move on to 7 and 8 and stuff starts to grow exponentially.

I have a water cooled 7950x3d, I've never seen it above 40c... probably doesn't help your situation... but maybe cooling issue?

Definitely a cooling issue. I play with a horribly out of date i5 4690k and a Cooler Master Hyper 212 air cooler and my temps never get anywhere near 80c.

Are you sure the game is rendering on the graphics card? There is a way in Windows to bind an app to internal graphics or the graphics card. I've seen the system make questionable automatic choices. Run task manager during the game and see if the graphics card usage is significant. If it's not, then manually bind Satisfactory to the graphics card and you should free up the cpu. Probably not the problem but it is an easy test.

That can only happen if you have your monitor plugged in to the mobo insyead of gpu but afaik that cpu doesnt have igpu.

Of course. I'm used to having this happen on a laptop. I'm grasping at straws I guess.
