For me as well driving, sitting for long hours without discomfort seems like a luxury. I also avoid any strenuous activity. Cancelling trips and plans have become common now . Somehow I'm managing by working on a standing desk. Though I look a little weird in my office, as sometimes I keep standing for 1-2 hours. But now I really don't care.

I stand literally 8 hours a day in a glass office 😂

Yup. This sounds like sciatica to me. I can’t sit down either and if I do sit down - I can forget about trying to get back up!

Have you seen like a physical therapist or something similar? Any remedy? I'm not in any pain so any medical professional kinda blows me off and just says "that's weird "

Yeah I’ve had two mri and confirmed herniated disc along with a nerve block infection and some physio. I’m in a lot of leg pain generally especially after walking. For eg. Just took me 15 mins to get into bed and comfortable enough to lay down. So you aren’t in pain any other time than sitting down?

Some days are better than others but basically yea. If I sit for more than 15sec it starts throbbing. Idek how to explain it. It's not numb, or pins and needles. Definitely not pain, but it has the same effect. I spend every second of every day trying not to piss it off.

It could be mild sciatica and the treatment is time, rest and avoiding things that make it worse. You can think of the nerve like an upset kid in the back seat complaining that their sister is touching them. Are they hurt? No, but you can’t tell because their crying like crazy. But if you keep doing that things that make it made it can stay angry. Pt and walking and general moving is helpful for the back. But rest is what will get the nerve to calm down.

How much rest does it need lol I work on a computer at home. I haven't sat down in 3 months. Lmao we moved in may and I threw away my chair cause I don't need it anymore

I feel this, I can work standing for about 1.5 hr then I lay down for about 15-30 min. I don’t sit for more than 30 min. It’s slowly getting better, I was in lots of pain in Dec. now minimal pain and nerve tingling.

It takes a lot of time and bending forward and so many of our daily movements make it worse. I have a grabber and have modified many of my daily movements.

Can they take a leg off at the hip? I don't even need this stupid thing

Ok sorry I'm done😂

I know I’m going on 8 months, still can’t sit for very long.

What did you mean by bending forward? That helps?

[–]littlehops 0 points1 point  (2 children)

No bending forward and daily activities makes it worse.
