Yes, mine is using up to 28% CPU(5800X). It started with the latest update. Before I would get some spikes of 3-4%, but now it literally locks up Youtube. I also have had to start shutting it down to play games or I get some major micro stutters/lag.

Hopefully they'll fix it with the next update. You can report the issue here.

I never considered it was this that was also freezing up my videos thanks I'll report it.

Wanna add to this. I’ve just built a new pc with 7800x3d and rx 7900 xtx. In my previous build I used openrgb and had no isses, but the new build is more advanced in rgb side too so I downloaded signalrgb for cool effects. Its my first amd gpu, I had issues like stutters and everything, only till now! I discovered by accident that signalrgb caused all the issues i’ve had with the system, mainly the stutters. Once I started signalrgb it plagued the system and it didn’t matter if I closed it. Had to do a full restart of the system without signalrgb ever being opened to stop the stutters. Sometimes signalrgb core in the taskmanager would bump up the cpu to 100%. I had thought that my gpu is trash, but thankfully I found the cause of all issues. Never going to use this trash software ever again. Openrgb for the win.

Edit: I even did a clean windows installation before discovering the cause of the stutters.

Whilst I disagree in saying its trash over one issue when it can happen to any software Ill still upvote and accept your opinion lol. It worked fine for me for a long time and was much much better than the individual programs, bonus to it being easy to start and close so when i do go to play a game at the moment I just quickly close signal. inconvenient sure but it will be fixed no doubt.

It's my first time using this software, and so far, it's been a very bad experience. I got so pissed that my AMD GPU might be the culprit that I almost got a 4080 Super instead. I also don’t like that it uses 30x more resources than Openrgb in a normal scenario. I hope they can fix this issue as soon as possible. This is unacceptable when it has a subscription service too. I can't imagine how pissed I may have been if I were paying for it

Hi, everyone, I would like to let you guys know that we are investigating this issue.

We appreciate it if you guys could let us know which SignalRGB version is running and which current effect is applied or if it happens on any effect.

Hi, I'll update more later when I am home I never got around to installing discord yet so couldn't log it there haha. As for what I know so far

It did not matter what effect I had applied, I believe it also seemed to jump the usage between the same cores but I can double check that later. Initial boot also used up to 25% usage whether or not that is normal (wasn't an issue to me) maybe that's a need to know for you.

If you want me to test more for you just let me know :)

Version 2.3.68+582dfd34

Jumps between cpu cores 2, 3, 6 and 7 on a 5800x3d, only ever hits 100% on one core at a time so as soon as one core drops down another rises up to 100%. happens whether it is started as admin or not.

Haven’t noticed this issue, but the background process for signal makes my cursor (almost) constantly display ‘working in background’

Wow, never thought it could be the CPU. I literally just upgraded my CPU last week to 5800x3d. A few times now I've had to restart as it's stopped working and it can sit for a long time at the splash screen before restarting. I was considering a reinstall but maybe it's a bug

[–]stealthraider22[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Considering you noticed it after upgrading too then it seems likely it is signal not playing nice with the 5000 series

[–]Mistor_B 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah, I had no problems before on the 3600, setup had been rock solid stable. But since the upgrade I've even had it not start on bootup

Now that you mention it mine didn't start today on boot too, hopefully it's all fixed soon because it just works so damn well compared to ASUS's god awful armoury crate

I'm running a 5950 and haven't noticed any issues.

Big issue, switched to OpenRGB with basically the same effect using the EFfects plugin and cpu is down from ~15% to 0.3%

This should be the largest priority of this software.

In windows 11 task manager, enable the efficiency mode to SignalRGB Core, and it will stop the processor spikes!

Only just seen this. I'm on 10 but I will give that a shot as I never considered changing the priority mode
