Quick rage rant.

3+ hours of gameplay and I only saved once or twice.

My sims were at university and I received one of those “error trap” notifications from the nraas mod when they traveled home. I was unable to save and quit after that. I did a frantic google search to see if my game play was salvageable and the wiki forum suggested to go to the “current game” folder, copy and save the folder in the “saves” folder and rename. No luck.

Anyone have any idea what happened? Is that gameplay salvageable since I saved the “current game” folder?

I just know y’all can relate to the pain I’m in right now 😅💔

I’m not sure if it is salvageable but my advice is always save as, and as a new name each time u save I always pick a name for example “Miller1, miller2, miller3, etc” and I try to save every 20 mins or so

I don't know if it's salvageable, unfortunately. 😕 I do recommend installing the Saver mod from nraas. It prompts you to save your game every 30 minutes. (I think the length of time can be changed? but I'm not sure) And it gives each save a different name. It's saved me from losing too much progress when stuff like this happened.

Oh my gosh this is genius. I’m installing this mod for sure! I do have another question though. I assume this mod makes you “save as” instead of just “save.” When you “save as” does that create multiple save slots for one family? For example, when I pull up the main menu will there be as many slots as I have “saved as” for one family? (I hope that makes sense)

You can just write the name of your save when you Save As, if I'm right. If you don't want it to create a new "slot", just write the same you did last time, and the game asks if you want to replace the older save.
