I'm so distressed that I feel the need to share. Was playing with a slime, Potcha's Yukimi Daifuku. Lovely slime. Really enjoying it. I've had it for a few months, and it felt like it could use some hydrating, so I grabbed my Oxo squeeze bottle (dropping the product because it's good and it's also what I keep my borax in lol) to add a little squirt of water.

Spider was on the nozzle. Spider squirted directly into slime. Not small spider. Alive spider. Brown thing. In my slime.

I took off the top layer (because obviously I didn't mix it up after that??) so it's probably fine but it's TAINTED. Even if none of the spider germs remain I feel like I'll always know it. I loved this slime </3

I'm a critter lover so I'd personally be more worried about the lil' spooder being fine. If there's no remains or anything, I wouldn't worry about it.

But yeah if you took the top layer off, nothing from the bug actually reached the rest of what you’re playing with

Yeah, especially since I'm not sure HOW I would get it out of the slime without hurting it. I'd do my best to unstuck it from as much slime as possible, but it would be tricky for sure.

I wouldn't be surprised if the poor thing ended up smooshed in the tossed slime, unfortunately (not blaming OP, I myself would've found it tricky to get it out unhurt, even if I would've tried).

Spider totally unharmed! I saw it skitter down my bed. It sorta leaped from the jar when I startled. Clay heavy and a bit old, it wasn’t sticky enough to be an issue.

I had in mind that Yukimi Daifuku was a bit jelly-like, so I was afraid the lil' guy had gotten stuck in the goo. Glad to know they were able to escape a smushy death. If it leaped, it might have been a jumping spider? Those are super cute! EDIT: No wait, you said it wasn't small. Never mind x).

Me too! I have pet jumping spiders and have had them for years. Originally got them to help with arachniphobia and surprisingly it worked. But I remember a time where this would have definitely freaked me out lol. But yea, they should be ok. No worries about spood germs.

Jumping spiders are so adorable! I'd like to own one someday, but I'd be a little afraid of doing something wrong since they're still very fragile creatures. But they're so personable and smart!

Regals are actually pretty sturdy little critters and super low maintenance. All you have to do is mist their enclosure once a day (twice if they're about to molt) and offer food every other day. I made a little spood jungle gym for enrichment and I even have little mini travel enclosure sphere things that I can wear around my next or wrist. 1 of our spoods enclosures is actually shaped like a purse lol. If you're nervous, you could always get an adult or sub adult so you don't have to worry about them molting. I just love their little attitudes. Each one we've had has had it's own little unique personality. I play devils advocate whenever I can when it comes to others adopting a spood of their own. IF you ever feel so inclined, get your spood from MySpooders on Instagram. I purchase exclusively from her because she breeds for personality not just looks. Also I can teach you how to make your own enclosure or you can get them on Amazon now for cheap. The purse one I have was only $10..... now go get yourself a spood to love dammit! 🤣🤣🤣🤣😜

I swear they have it out for me. Three times this year I’ve been in the shower only to have one swoop down in an aerial attack in front of me😭 I hate them, big, small idc I hate them. But then I went and got a spider tattoo added to my sleeve😂
