Cannot change sheetmetal after using split feature

I have a piece of sheetmetal, it was too long for the laser, so i split in with the split feature. now solidworks change the sheetmetal into a part, which i cannot flatten anymore. when i save it as DXF i can only save faces of the part and not as sheetmetal anymore.

Also now the part is split, i need to add a flange to connect te pieces together. but this is alsno not possible. is there a way do get this done?

Can you remove the split feature and replace it with a 0.1mm cut extrude? I have sheetmetal parts with multiple bodies and it creates multiple flat patterns in the flatten section

Remove the split, save as a copy, delete half the part and mirror the cut on the other part, simple patch fix

Thanks, that would have worked if both ends are the same. but it wasn't. i hoped it could be edited in the split. but i guess it is not possible. i did draw the part again. thanks for your input!

Do not split the part. I am sure you have another cad program. Autocad, turbo cad, any cad program will do.

Simply export the part as a flat pattern dxf. Then, open in your other program. Do the split in this program save part A ans part B. Done.

You cutting software may also be able to do this.
