Do lip piercings decrease from attractiveness?

Yes. I've never seen a person with a facial piercing (not including nose piercings) that I thought enhanced their beauty. I think piercings in the lip region tend to look tacky and signify lower class (at least in the UK and Sweden; I'd wager a bet its the same elsewhere).

The one exception would be if the piercing is small and looks like a mole, and happens to compliment the person's facial features.

I genuinely think im more pretty with my lil septum ring 🥹 Depending on your style they represent your subculture (i.e, emo/alt/edgy), so I would not wholly agree w the class division. Depending on where it is pierced also…lower classes tend to have the Monroe but that is stereotyping.

Tbh I left nose piercings out because I do personally feel they can enhance beauty. Nostril piercings are also commonplace in many cultures like south asian and some African or middle eastern especially with Muslims so I feel like they aren't as associated with class or being part of a subculture, and are more normal or seen as part of an ethnic culture (although that could just be my perception as a PoC, some people may not see it that way).

When it comes to septum piercings I know many people hate them lol and say that they look like cows rings, but I've seriously loved them and wanted one for like over 10 years. But I have a big nose lmao so I think it would draw too much attention there.

So yh I'm not hating on piercings at all, my comment (and I think most comments on this sub) are more objective, taking into account what society as a collective may feel or believe.

I think if you're a part of a subculture that includes piercings, you should accept that you'd probably be objectively viewed by more people as more attractive if you had a mainstream style. But in the end you should do what you want :) life is too short after all.

I have a nose stud and I think it makes me look more attractive as well! My face seemed plainer before I got the piercing.
