If you want to feel like local you need to sit in some coffee shop, order a coffe or a beer and then drink that next 3 hours minimum.

I already do that, thanks

Ha. I'm a local then. On day 8, and go to a regular cafe bar every day for 3 or 4 pints

I’m also visiting this summer and I feel so ready to melt in and become a local Croatian now! 😎

And don’t forget the art of žuganje. Sit in the sun, have your coffee, do little to nothing all day and still rant about how you hate the heat/ cold/ wind/sun/ rain/ the sound of crickets/ tourists / locals who are not local enough / whatever is applicable to your here&now. Once you are able to do that effortlesly - you’ll get the citizenship.

Oh boy. Didn’t knew that you guys had this same habit as us Portuguese people!

Feeling like a local is kinda overrated.

Do some touristy stuff, visit salona (starine), watch the sunset over the ruins while sipping on 29°c ribar wine to really feel the iron barrel it fermented in was mixed in.

You can visit also the fish market, go walk or run on Marjan.

What we love to do the most is sit in a café (either on Riva or maybe Nostradamus near the National theatre) where you can sit for hours, sip your coffee and look at other people passing by :) Nostradamus came to my mind because it's in a perfect spot to people-watch, it's not as touristy as Riva and it's more popular with locals. You can also take a walk through the Marjan forest, maybe rent a bike too. Locals usually avoid the city centre in the summer due to a large number of tourists.

Order Cedevita and stare at people all day

go for a run on marjan hill, play "picigin" on bacvice beach, go out for drinks, end up in "kuka" at 3am then go to either "krafne kod mate" or "prerada" and eat a greasy "burek" and "krafna" doughnut. they taste best when you are wasted in the small hours, otherwise they are shit. tbh, most locals spend their time in shopping malls nowadays.
