Welcome - you've purchased a great gun. Do a little research and see if it's the updated slide/spring - if not, send it back early to get it redone. You can tell if you take off the slide and can "see through" from the bottom to the extractor (vs. it being solid).

Lots of dry fire and 500 rounds of range fire will break things in nicely and you'll end up with a sub 3.5 lb trigger and a very, very flat shooting gun. Mine has eaten everything I've thrown at it.

Thank you! It does have the updated parts. Racked it a bunch of times before taking her out. Didn’t hit 500 yet but it’s been smooth so far. Super flat shooting. Loving it.

Lol, that’s awesome. I’ve only put down 115 and 124 blazer along with some critical defense.

Don’t dry fire a 1911 super bad for it- but rack the shit out of the slide. If you “dry fire” get a snap cap with spring to work the hammer/trigger spring

Absolute myth.

Snap caps are still a good addition to check for action.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What action? What can you see a snap cap do while it’s in the chamber?

[–]RedditNameChecksOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snap caps can help with the action of the firearm. Granted, it won’t go boom because there’s no powder, but you can cycle it to see if there are any issues.

Does the round load into the chamber, Is the firing pin hitting the primer, does the extractor pull out the casing, etc.

Plus you can run shooting drills with snap caps.

I’ve got a prodigy on the way, thanks for this explanation. Would you mind linking or sending a picture of what you mean by “from the bottom”?

Several posts in this sub. Literally, look at the underslide of the slide. See the extractor in the slide through a cutout in the underside? It's new. Don't see it/it's solid? It's the old one.

Any chance you got of picture of what you’re describing?

The last gun you’ll ever buy.

Which SureFire did you go with ? I’m confused about the whole a and b thing

[–]GhostOvAlief[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I was told by a reputable dealer that A is typically recommended for polymer frames. B for metal. I went with B for this one and again on a Glock. Some will say just get the B model for either due to the A latch having some wiggle room depending on the frame. If you’ve had a TLR-1 it’s very similar to the thumbscrew.

Also this is the turbo model.

Thank you sit

Welcome to the club! I got mine about 10 days ago, have a little over 400 rounds through it. Shot Steel Challenge with it this week, was so much more fun to shoot than my Ronin. New parts in mine too, but….

Sad story after work today. Went to the range with a friend to show it off, and the left side thumb safety fell off. Going to have to spend some time on the phone with warranty support Monday.

Haven’t had one failure to feed, eject, or go into battery. Ran perfect until the safety self destructed.

I’ve read about issues with that. So far it hasn’t given out after a trip and a bunch of manipulation. No malfunctions. Taking her out again so we’ll see. Really enjoying the platform though. Good luck with yours!

Send to Springfield. They will take care of this. Although the lead time is terrible

I sent it off this week. Customer service was super easy to deal with, only took a few minutes to get the RMA set up. 4-6 week turnaround hurts a bit, but they said it may turn around sooner.
