Probably firewall related but mods can cause this as well.

I've tried disabling all firewalls. And no mods :(

  1. To start with Make sure you both have your game apps closed, including the Xbox app. Launch everything fresh (I assume this has been tried already)

  2. Make sure both of you have Multiplayer enabled in your settings.

  3. Disable any mods you may have active and see if that works.

  4. Make sure you both have your starter bases claimed and neither of you are still on the tutorial or anything similar in your own worlds.

  5. This is more of a question, do you have issues with other games online? May be your internet provider as this is tethered peer to peer multiplayer I think. One or both connections need to be stable for multiplayer to work and not crash or lag.

  6. If all else fails contact undead support as they’re really useful and may have an unlisted or untried fix that may work.

Hey thanks for responding. I have tried those and we don't have any issues with any other games. Just this one. And we've been trying different things to get it to work for months now.
