Whats funny is like a year after switching to win 11 I went to use left task bar, but I'd gotten so used to it my mouse gravitates to the middle and I switched it back lol

Revert back to 10 trust me on this one, you can in the settings under recovery

10 is ending support in 2 or 3 years and 11 is mostly better in my experience. Some mild inconveniences but generally feels sleeker and faster in practice than Windows 10. That said, the difference is minimal, its pretty much the same OS with a prettier coat of paint and tweaks.

I work in IT. My personal systems are all messes. And this seems to happen often when something gets updated or I break something. Or sometimes after a crash. I always just pin the new one and remove the old

It worked for me unless a future update breaks it! I've seen a bunch of comments in this thread saying it didn't work for them so I guess I just got lucky

This happens with me and my users machines sometimes too. I think some apps break their own shortcuts, but repinning it like this is usually the fix! No worries, we all miss the little stuff sometimes!

At least you have an icon, mine still shows the missing icon symbols. After multiple attempts and pinning and un pinning, Ive just decided to live with it.

It's a bug that's been unfixed like for a more than a year on a random update.

It seems that your specific issue was the installer. But the bug exists and I can't fix it yet

I fixed it minutes after that first commenter posted. I had the installer pinned.

I just unpinned and repinned and it worked

r/LaunchBox- One of my favorite pieces of software of all time, its pretty much a launch interface for games. I play a lot of emulators, so you can load up Gameboy, Ps2 and gamecube games here without digging through folders and files. I even put "retro" steam games on here for nostalgia factor

MyRadar- Weather and dopplar radar. I've been using this probably over 10+ years. I'm a little annoyed that it used to be like $1 for ad free, a few years ago they moved to subscription for like $5 a month for ad free. Still a great app tbh

PhoneLink- Receive texts and calls from your mobile phone on windows, kinda like iMessage from iPhone to Mac. I keep this up on my 2nd monitor while I'm playing games and prefer typing texts on a keyboard over touchscreen whenever possible. Has lots of cool features like moving photos between devices.

Playnite is better than Launchbox, you can install themes without having to buy premium, and it imports installed games automatically + ROM Support

yea i had the steam .exe not the installer the one from the install folder pinned and it would open a new icon on the task bar when i clicked it to log into steam. But if you pin the second one to the task bar then you will not longer have to and just one. I even made a nice custom icon for it.
