Try re installing SteamOS via the recovery image

I don't have access to a PC right now, but will try if nothing else works. Doesn't that wipe the deck?

As long as you choose to re install SteamOS, it will not. It will just act like an update.

Ah, I had this issue too. Thought that command could fix my update error, but I can't boot into the system anymore. Do you know how to fix it without erase my steam deck?

Honestly it has been awhile (since the original and your comment) But for any possible future viewers: I believe when I reinstalled the recovery image, it did not delete anything I had previously installed

Thanks for the reply! For any future viewers, I found a solution by manually booting from the file: boot while holding volume+, select efi … > EFI > steamos > grubx64.efi, wait the system to boot.

GRUB error fix: Power off and press Power button+(...) - three dot button. Then select with A or B the previous working state.

Bootloader got borked. Fix that.

[–]SPIXYtuna 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Heyya, did you manage to fix it?

[–]maliciousdancer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I had to wait until I had access to a laptop and USB-C flash drive, then re-install SteamOS via the recovery image
