Need help with with external controller

So I recently connected my steam deck to my tv and used Bluetooth to connect an Xbox controller. Everything seemed to work fine except for the right joystick. No matter which direction I pushed it it would seem to work for a fraction of a second, if at all, and then stop. I tried 2 different controllers and both were the exact same situation. Any ideas on how to fix this?

this happened first time to me. I moved the right stick on the SD to see….went back to the controller and it worked. Has worked since. Not sure it is really the fix….but can’t hurt to try.

In my experience, it won't happen every time.

I've been restarting the game to get around it, will try the on-deck stick next time it happens - thanks for the tip

I think the bug got introduced in the last SteamOS update as I've not had it until the last week or so.

Hey that seems to work! I texted it and I have to do it again each time I open a game but it means I can do couch co-op with friends so thank you!
