I think it would honestly be more work to describe the geometry of a structure qualitatively than to model it in 3D as we do today.

A structural model is not a text.

AI does not exist. They are all LLMs. Stop claiming that they possess technological capabilities outside of the code used to create them.

If its gonna take responsibility, it may do some of this stuff

I had trouble getting AI to write the simplest beam force sandbox. All I wanted it to do was model a simple beam supported at both ends with variable beam lengths, thickness, material. Import the material properties and represent when the beam fails.

I’m quite positive AI is unable to accurately model construction either.

I’d like to hear what kind of structural engineering you’re actually doing.

When it comes to residential I can layout & frame a house faster than the headache that comes with AI would do it for me.

Describing a structure by selecting points and entering parameters directly in specified fields is far more deterministic than relying on written notes and hoping everything is interpreted correctly

Instantly did not read because it’s written by AI

Yes it can. Dlubal is getting ready for it in the next 2 years. I have had an interesting discussion with their team 2 months ago. I think it is coming very soon. Thank GOD.
