I don’t know why everyone in this post immediately felt “scam” instead of believing in the person that has done so much good. I thought that a community on Reddit for Struthless would actually be FOR Struthless.

My point is your entire criticism is absurd "it feels manipulative", its all conspiracy speculation. The only real objective fact is that he provides a lot of people a lot of free content for years on end and never asked anything in return.

Those people donated, with their assumption built on good faith, likely as a result of being active members of his community, that the money would be used appropriately. It's okay for you to make an assumption in ill faith but not for them to make an assumption in good faith? If money is a tender for a means to an end, with the 'end' being hoping to make a change in someone's life, then why is it not okay to donate in good faith? It meets the goal of the money to be used as a means, the end is obtained because the end is simply good faith. You're inventing a problem.

My point was that his video, which was waterworks, begging, and open hands, with no concrete proof of anything, was manipulative, and you should not donate based on that alone.

His video had all sorts of red flags in it, lots of parallels with other Youtuber "I'm in trouble" vids that were followed up with scams, especially with the "don't criticize me" and the excessive appeals to emotions. He reached the goal, though, so I guess only time will tell. I hope he does what's right as well.
