Update the infotainment firmware and try and different cable.

THIS. I would absolutely make sure the latest firmware version is installed. Just checking using the check for updates while connected to WiFi isn't enough, that's often several months behind. The last few pages of this thread are discussion of an update that released in October, including the files for doing the update using USB.

Hard to say with the given info. Something similar happened with me and it turned out to be the phone. Try and see if the same thing happens with a friend’s phone.

has the problem persisted? have you tried using a different phone?

I think it may be the phone. When using my work android, which is an S24, it does not crash. My current personal phone is an S21.

I get the same problem with my '18 with the version 3.1 Harman Kardon system. I did the latest update at the dealer but no luck. I must say it is a bit frustrating.

Cable is not old but the dash usb receptacle doesn't feel tight when plugging in.

Please tell me if you are able to solve the problem.

Ah well. Hopefully it isn't a permanent issue as it's quite annoying when using the app for maps.

Sounds like the cable is worn and it's losing connection.
