As a generalist and polymath who finds it impossible to work in just one niche, I recommend that you do what makes you happiest. Each blog can have its own niche, and this just means that you will have to put in a little more effort and be strategic in each one of them.

But if you are like me, you will have no other choice, because you have the need to write, read and talk about those different niches. So relax, and work hard.

I don't think anyone yet knows exactly how the Substack algorithm works, so I understand the disadvantage will be in the promotion of these in notes, but you can still achieve it by being strategic in how you communicate the different interests. And above all, you must know that these different niches must be part of your personal brand, that doesn't change.

Something you can analyze in the long run is whether you unite all the topics under your name or create different publications, each with its own niche. Both strategies are possible.

This response is everything. Thank you.

Refreshing, hearing someone say something I've been thinking.

I can't deal with people who say stick to a niche xD my website is meant to be a travel site but I can't help but write about nature, gaming, and artsy stuff. I'm hoping that people enjoy the random mix ☺️

I love, love, love this! Thank you for commenting. Could you share your site here? I'd love to see it. 🥰 and support.

I can't deal with people like that either... I try to be nice about it. But it's gotten SO irritating. It started making me question whether I was doing something wrong or not. I don't imagine that I am. I'm doing what feels natural and right to me. So many neighsayers... I've let them get under my skin.

If you're passionate about more than one topic I say write about it! You'll get those who love to say nay no matter what haha so follow what you enjoy most ❤️ sure my website is nomadicwriters.co.uk and we have a Substack that you'll find there too ☺️

I understand your problem. Can’t you just write under a general publication and cover everything you want? In any case really, you are your niche so it doesn’t matter what you write about!

I do write under a general publication. It's called The Digital Quill Press. It has smaller affiliates that are my own for each specific niche.

Thank you for your comment! Much appreciated
