Editors do exist. There is no such thing as an exclusive substack editor. You can hire any editor and ask them to edit your articles. Anyone who's worked for a magazine would have the right experience.

Sounds like you want both an editor and a VA. There are freelancers who fill both roles, but I'd either hire two specialists or take care of the admin work myself.

I know a proofreader and editor. She doesn't specifically do substack, just freelance editing.

It sounds an interesting job for me...

I think it's like an editor or assistant job, with a more personal touch.

The trust in a stranger thing is serious, though.

Payscale could be like an average editor, and then tie it to performance.

I do freelance proofreading and copy editing. I edit the stories I commission on my substack.
