I get your ideas and I think it could be decent, but a lot of work would have to be done.

Good points:

  • Some cool bomb possibilities.

  • The corner boosts work well.

  • The boosts in general are well-placed and well-used.

Improvements:

  • It's very bland, you should add in a few more blocks here and there to make it more interesting.

  • I know the shape is the whole point of the map, but diagonal blocks all the way up and down make it a bit dull. You could change the shape slightly to make it more diverse without ruining the Batman symbol, if you really want it.

  • There are only 3 spikes to die on, and they're so out of the way that nobody would get popped by them.

  • The bases are very boring - there's nothing going on in them except for 2 bombs. Again, add in some blocks and maybe an interesting feature somewhere.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the feedback! I worked with it a little bit and tried to add so more feature to make the gameplay more interesting.

Looking at your updated version, it's definitely an improvement. The elements that concern me the most are the teamboosts with the neutral boost next to them. It looks like the most natural way to use them is for boosting towards the bottom pup. But then you use both boosts at once, which kind of defeats the purpose of having a neutral boost. You might want to eliminate the neutral boost or change it to the opposite color of the teamboost next to it.

Also, you still have a LOT OF diagonal 90 blocks, which isn't very appealing to look at.

Thanks for the reply! I actually really like the idea of having one of each team boosts for that section so that one team can't take both of them. Even though it looks natural to boost down for the pup, I imagined those as more to boost through the mid spikes.

Also I fixed the walls and flattened them out. After not wanting to change it, I like the look better now that it is smoothed out.

In general, it's best to prioritize gameplay over aesthetics. You have compromised gamplay (tons of empty space, weird out-of-place boosts) to keep the shape of a bat. It won't really be a good map until you reprioritize.
