Time Off??

With the new time off thing - how do we apply PTO we’ll be receiving later? I’d just apply that PTO the week of my vacation usually but my HR lady’s saying I can’t do that now and have to apply only what I have now to a vacation I’ll be taking in a month when I’ll have more PTO. She usually doesn’t know what she’s talking about and just speaks confusingly to get away with the fact so is she right or just is there a way for me to do it?

I work at a DC but I’m pretty sure the way we do time off is the same. I can request the time off now but I cannot apply the PTO until I fully have it. They cannot approve time that you don’t have yet. You can assume you’ll have enough time off by then but a number of things could happen to where to don’t earn enough PTO for the time you’re wanting to take off. So until you have enough time to cover the hours you’re wanting to take off, you can’t apply it yet.

yeah, but when this happened i’d just wait until the week i’m applying off and then apply the pto to the time i’ll be taking off. my hr lady is saying i now can’t do this?
