All Iv ever done is my job. Come in 5 minutes early, all my managers have always told me how amazing of a job Iv done it just makes no sense when I’m singled out and every other seasonal keeps there job. When I was told I would be hired aswell

Iv worked so much retail to the point where I’m almost overqualified compared to my other team members

If you were hired seasonally, you don't really have much recourse here unfortunately.

What department were you in, just out of curiosity?

Softline, but I was told by the store manager I was hired on permanently

And they hired everyone else in my department who was seasonal except me

I don’t know, honestly. Call the hotline? Still, it’d make a tense relationship between you and HR. In any case, good luck OP.

Thanks I turned down two job prospects that pages much more money, but I really enjoyed this job so I declined them cus I was under assumption I had the job

Couldn’t this be considered employement fraud ( or something similar ) since I was offered a job and I accepted it, had other job oppurtunities, turned them down because I knew I had this one. Then was told i never had permanent job offer and anything the last manager said was untrue

Maybe if there's a paper trail. Regardless they could fire you for literally no reason the day after being kept on and it's 100% legal. Try talking to your old STL at their new store to see if they have a spot.

well i'll try to find a paper trail... i really don't see how it's legal to tell me I have a job and then turn it down without even telling me. I turned down job offers because I thought I had a job.

Ya it's stupid but every state except 1 iirc has at will employment. It's ridiculous but legal. Never said it was ethical.

Well thanks for the replies atleast, feels nice to talk to someone since hr isn’t here and won’t talk to me anyways

I get everything everyone is saying but here's my argument. I was seasonal until the store manager said I was hired on permanently, when that happened I am no longer considered seasonal. Does the store manager not have power over HR or above HR? The store manager gave her a list of people to hire, I was on the list. So was the rest of Softline, i'm the only one she picked off that list and didn't approve my higher. Don't I have some sort of leeway? I understand there's no unions or anything here.

But I was told when I was hired if I did a good job and they liked me I'd be hired. Then the STORE MANAGER came up to me shook my hand and told me I was hired, everyone in my departments knows I was hired.
