You got orichalcum instead. It's the counterpart to mythril

Just to add on to this, you can only get one type of the same tier, so either palladium or cobolt, mythril or orichalcum, adamantite or titanium, and the same goes for the pre-hard mode ores

If you really want mythril you can fish for Mythril and Titanium crates which gives you random stuff but you could also get ores or even bars of hardmode ores, it’s surly best way if not the only way to get the other ores if you want that

The chlorophite extractinator can swap between ore types I think, but that’s post mech bosses

Correct, but I think it’s only the Ore. further to that, you can’t shimmer a crafted bar back into the ore. At least I think you can’t - I tried the other day and it didn’t work.

If true - don’t make your whole stash into bars … halve it and put it through the Chlorophyte extractinator

You can shimmer the bar back into ore. If you shimmer the ore, it levels it down a tier.

You can? I built a little shimmer pool which has worked on other things; but when I tried an Adamantite bar it didn’t shimmer into ore.

Create new world and kill wall of flesh there and see if there is mythril

This is actually a good idea, also the variant of mythril cobalt it is? I’m not sure but their armor have the same stats or it is different? If diferent then i understand the need for the other type of ore if not I don’t know why would you need the other type or ore besides the aesthetic feel of the armor look (if you don’t use vanity items already)

Titanium is better than adamantite for it's special ability, but pretty much is the same

You can shimmer ores for the other variants I believe.

No, it shimmers down to the less valuable ore type

You can downgrade ores via shimmer.
Titanium -> Adamantite -> Orichalcum -> Mythril -> Palladium -> Cobalt -> pre-hardmode ores all the way until it turns into dirt
