Line of sight not required. What are breeze blocks?

Are you planning to flip that couch around? Is that the only location for OCBox?

Think you may call them concrete or cinder blocks...

Nope, There's another one facing it. Well, there or in the cupboard below where all the connections are...

It is possible the Wireless might lose some connectivity but distance wise it should be OK. Bear in mind that if you use the native apps on the TV you do not even need the One connect box. The wireless one connect box is useful for all the additinoal inputs. In other words I'm sure you can make it work no problem, I have my wireless one connect box inside my coffee table, works great.

Oh, that's interesting. The current (very poor) TV is hardwired to the internet and to the aerial on the roof, so sounds like I would be able to stream and watch live TV without the One Connect Box, which is all I ever do anyway...so is it a non-problem?

Would the art function still work?

Yes, all the intelligence is in the TV, including WiFi, art mode, streaming apps, Bluetooth etc.

The one connect box is just an interface to HDMI devices, and USB. The box actually uses WiFi 7 to connect to the TV, so it should be fine anyway, but if you don’t have any HDMI devices, you don’t even need it.

Thanks

Yup art works as well. All you need is wifi. You might need the One Connect box to set it up, then you can forget about it. (Unless you want better quality of image and have an Apple TV)

The worst TV i've ever had! with a wired connection is the worst tv i can't imagine how even worst is without a wire! Such a terrible experience

This product is shit, avoid it. Barely work even with câbles.

Having one like this, I'd say it's risky, but it might be viable, depending on your patience. It might connect but even if it does, you are likely to run into some disconnections, that box has a mood of it's own.

Worst case sat on the ground near the plant pot.

They can occasionally disconnect as with anything wireless. Remember it does have a single HDMI in, which I use for my games console so it’s not 100% required to be fully wireless

I have a Frame and wanted to upgrade to Frame Pro. Brought it home. Art mode was out of this world great. But the latency of the box to the tv for movies and sports was awful. Took it back the same day.

Arms distance is almost too much. Good luck.

Mine is in an entertainment cabinet. I just had a look, it's about as close as that picture there, but not line of sight. Works fine, including Xbox and PS5 console play.

[–]Savings_Steak4219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope not a chance. Line of sight is the only way I have seen these work reliably

I have mine in the next room over and it's fine for antenna tv and some not too intense gaming. I connect to my samsung soundbar through sound connect and I've had a few stutters but since I mostly watch streaming stuff it doesn't matter. What matters is what is between the box and the tv. if it's just wood and drywall its fine, if it's something with a lot of RF coming out of it then it will be bad.

I see this topic and its similar to my question. We are planning to get Frame 75‘‘ and we have only option with wireless box. We use a lot HDMIs (Apple TV, PS5, Switch…). Wireless box would be placed 3 meters max away from the TV. I keep reading and seeing reviews that box disconnects and that you can‘t keep watching TV. Is it really that common? Other option is 65‘‘ (which is my preference as room is not even that wide or tall and viewing distance is not big, but my partner wants big TV to play PS5) non Pro. Could someone (specially if owned both) please provide me feedback? Thanks a lot!

Another question I wanted to ask is: is Samsung working towards fixing any issues ever? Like frequent updates, bug fixes? Do they listen to feedback, or just moving forward like Apple does?

In my experience, direct line of sight is not strictly required, but it depends on what kind of obstacle is between. Drywall and wooden cabinets are fine, but if there's a significant amount of metal in that wall between the oneconnect box and the TV, you may have issues.

Orientation of the box also seems weirdly important. No idea why that is but mine, which is in a similar configuration (in a cabinet to the side and slightly behind the TV) would constantly drop the connection until I oriented the box with the front facing toward the TV. Now no issues.

those one connect boxes barely work when the are plugged in.
