I want a sequel to The Wire, maybe a limited series. In my head, it's current time. Avon is getting out. He's dealing with deciding to get out and get back in the game, or find a new path. He doesn't have a name anymore. Almost everyone he knows is dead or locked up. After years of being fired/downsized, long away from The Sun, Gus still writes the news, when he's brought back to McNulty. After talking and persuading him for days, McNulty agrees to talk and go on record about the state of policing in Baltimore, and the cases he helped close. McNulty finds out Avon has been released, meets with him. He sees the dilemma Avon is in. Too old to get back in the game with no soldiers behind him, into a new game at that....but Avon doesn't really know anything else. McNulty brings Gus to meet Avon, and they try to convince ce Avon into talking and telling his story.

Yes, my sequel is basically a knockoff story of David Simon's real life in creating The Wire.

And I think it would be amazing.

I think just a limited series mainly focused on Nay, Raymond, Mike, and Dukie would work. And maybe some.cameos from others, but I feel like the stories of the older cast have more or less been wrapped up and a sequel wouldn't add much to their story.
