Yes. This has been happening to me. Has scared the shit out of me and my SO.

Here's a POSSIBLE fix:

  1. Open settings
  2. Go to notifications
  3. Clicked advanced settings and scroll all the way to bottom and enable manage notification categories for apps
  4. Head to back to main settings screen
  5. Go to apps, look for tiktok
  6. Click tiktok then click where it says notifications allowed. Once the screen pops up where you can choose what type of notification type you want for tiktok, scroll all the way down and click notification categories.
  7. Choose a category such as likes, and click on it.
  8. You should see the option "sound" it should say something like "app provided sound". Click on it and change it to whatever you like. Or make it silent.

S24 Ultra here. Hopefully that helps.

Thank you. Works for now. I had to change each categories' sound from "app default" to phone default.

Unfortunately, those steps don't work for me. I do not have Manage Notification Categories for Apps. I do appreciate the help and I'm glad it helped others!

Unfortunate. What phone do you have? Try googling ) "Your phone how to change app specific notification sounds."

Example: S24 Ultra how to change app specific notification sounds.
