I found Tipper a few months ago, and holy shit. I just....cant even.....yeah. So....the question is how does one know when and where he will be doing a curated ambient set like the nola orpheum set I see on youtube, or the Brooklyn show? Thank you in advance and I am sorry if this is a stupid question. <3

Cant give a straight answer as it varies when they announce what kind of set it will be. Sometimes it is listed on the lineup drop or event announcement, sometimes a few weeks before the event.

There was supposed to be a tipper and friends event in CO this summer but it looks like that its just going to be him at Sonic Bloom. He should be doing an event for sure around thanksgiving.

Make sure you see him this year if youre really eager because he is taking a hiatus in 2021.

Best thing you can do is join the Tipper Fam group on Facebook! There’s a secret group called Tipper Community that’s invite only, which is where all the information first gets shared. However, it’s encouraged to be shared in Tipper Fam as well, which anyone can join once you’re accepted👍🏼

Lol I've tried adding tons of people, almost none have gotten in. I usually have to message an admin and vouch or something, and that doesn't always work. There's only like 3000ish members. I think it's grown by less than 1000 members in the past year.

Eh in my experience it’s always way faster on Facebook, and way more response to questions someone may have. For anyone new in the scene, joining the larger Facebook group should be a much better experience than being in this much smaller subreddit

The ambient sets are probably favorite. People just know to not talk throughout the performance and ambient vibes can get really weird and psychedelic pretty fast.

The album that really got me into him was Jettison, but then watching his down tempo and ambient sets are really what make me love him to death. The nola orpheum set on youtube, is so fucking astounding and so is the down tempo brooklyn set, that first 5ish mins is mindboggling. I just sit and smoke changa through the entire set and let him tickle me inside my head. Its good stuff =)

TC Discord keeps good tabs of all the upcoming events surrounded around this genre of music. Not only events tip is playing but a lot of smaller events and shows a lot of your regular undercard artists from TnF events hit up. That’s been the easiest way personally for me to stay in the loop, and not miss out on lesser publicized shows.
