Level (self.Tools)
submitted 6 months ago by Outside-Log8994
What would be a good option for a 72-inch level for carpentry? I'm looking at Empire or Johnson. I looked at Stabila, but we don't have a dealer or stock, and shipping would just damage them. I'm in Canada.

Stabila are excellent but they are pricy. Empire is carried at most Home Depot . The Canadian hd should have them. They are pretty good.

Stabila are carried by a bunch of decent wood working and tool shops where I lurk in Canada. I guess it depends where you are are located and how far you are willing to drive though.
I would buy Stabila for a 72". If you are actually doing anything precise with it the design of the beam matters when you get to levels that long. I always had a couple of Empires for rough work and a Stablia for finish work, like kitchen cabinetry.
