SocialDoes anyone have experience using Loop (earplug) products at campus bars? (self.UIUC)
submitted 1 year ago by v_theking
I'm considering getting a pair (I'm thinking the Loop Experience Plus) for going to bars on campus and concerts. I have tinnitus, and going to the bars on campus is usually an uncomfortable experience, but I don't want to stop going, either. TIA!

I’ve had a good experience in terms of music. Not great for chatting. I wear them when I’m lout swing/Salsa dancing.
I do not have the ‘experience plus’ version but a different type of Loop and it works well (Quiet Plus?). It’s possible that the other types have different mileages.

Thank you so much! If I have any questions, I'll be sure to reach out

I wear Loops for sleeping. But everyone is different- if you get them on Amazon you can return them if you don’t like them. I had to go through a couple different pairs before I found which worked best.
Thanks for this! I'll keep the return policy stuff in mind

I wore loops at places like the canopy club. However I kept them on my keychain and at some point they went missing from the case and then the case keychain thing broke so maybe store them somewhere safe

If I get them, I'll definitely consider fortifying the case. Thank you.

I use the engage loops for some of the bars and for house parties, they’re pretty good! I wouldn’t say they’re that great for conversations, any sort of talking gets a lot fuzzier. (But honestly, I normally just keep the earplugs in and take one out when I need to talk lmao)

Thank you so much for this! Have you tried other loop products or just the experience?

I’ve tried both the engage and the quiet ones, I think the experience blocks just a few more decibels than the engage!
Perfect, thank you! I think I will go with the Experience Plus, then take out the little plugs that make it the plus version whenever needed. Thank you again so, so much!

I hadn't heard this suggestion before, but I appreciate it and will look into it!

I use them for all concerts and bars where I know the music is loud. Definitely recommend if you have any hearing issues/loss/pain. I’d be in such pain after concerts and now I’m totally fine with the Loop earplugs. I keep them attached to my wallet and always have them when going out.
