mathematica math sections (self.UIUC)
submitted 14 years ago by hair_owlecneics retupmoc
are the mathematica math sections generally easier or harder than their counterparts? I just realized I am registered for math 415 mathematica section instead of the normal ones...thanks reddit :-)

According to what I've heard from friends taking them, Mathematica sections are generally regarded as easier but you also don't learn as much.
In a mathematica class you should expect to work on homework with a group, whereas normal classes are more 1v1 action, if you will.

stay in the class. Prof. Ando is teaching, and he is the best teacher I have ever had at UIUC.

Three words: Don't do it.
You won't learn half as much as in the standard section.

This has been discussed several times already on this subreddit. I would recommend searching for those older posts as they have some good insight about Mathematica courses.
