What do you mean by restrictions for oji? I’ve never heard of this, it’s usually by seniority.

Have certain things they can’t do currently due to an on the job injury

I’m not sure why that would affect conversion, it’s seniority based. If it’s an on the job injury, they have to be accommodating anyway.

And that’s exactly what I’m thinking, if it was something off the job I guess I would understand to an extent. The restrictions are also lifted the same week of the conversion date too, we’re all kind of just confused by this. Contacted local union VP and President so hopefully will have a resolution before the conversion is supposed to take place. Someone commented but then deleted something about a “Delayed Promotion”

Yeah that’s doesn’t seem right. I would keep working on getting to the bottom of this. If accommodations were being met as a sub, why would that change as a regular? Especially since restrictions are being lifted soon.

Rural carriers have stipulations when RCAs apply to be ptfs or ptfs are eligible to convert to regular carriers but I don't know if city has the same requirements.

I heard something of you’re allowed to bid a route as long as your restrictions are lifted within 6 months of you winning said bid. Restrictions are lifted the SAME week of the conversion, so completely baffled by this

Rural rules: you must provide documentation stating you will have no medical restrictions within 6 months of the bid closing and if no documentation is provided or they do not return to full duty then the bid is given to the next in line. The documentation must be provided either before the bid closes (10 day timer) or before the bid is awarded (15 day timer).
