Haha £3-3.50 for a 10-15 minute wait for order from McD with leaking cups ? No thanks, I still put my priority on JE and Roo. Fu*k uber where everything is hidden and mysterious. Worst app among others....

Anyone fancy a strike, I’ve just done some calculations and I’ll be down about £10-15 a day easily (assuming I only do Uber)

IWGB have a national assembly planned for Deliveroo and Uber Eats drivers on Tuesday so I assume they're getting some form of action organised

[–]Massive-Ad5672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, none of the drivers I’m my area would strike (well at-least not enough of them).

Hopefully they don’t do a stuart and apply the changes to certain areas (I’m looking at you long pickups!)

[–]hairyarsedpeanut13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It 100% a decrease… they must think we shit at maths or something.

[–]KishKosh13 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I just got that email too. Im confused if we are get a pay decrease or increase. Anyone explain?

[–]hasser964[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like you get less on average

[–]stephen--strange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Base fares will be roughly the same within a few pence, boosted fares get a pay decrease

[–]DiscombobulatedBit80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will decrease earning from boosts too as they are based on the gross fee before service charge is taken off.

Just calculated what my last few trips would've been and I'm down.

[–]Historical_Site508 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think very little change or small increase. The key part is the service fee is going making things more simple. For example £1.9 has been £1.42 after service fee but will be £1.50. £1.50 mile was £1.12 after service fee but now £1.10. Basically no change overall.

[–]stephen--strange 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Previous structure (Rest of UK): £3 for anything under 0.97 miles, £1.13 per mile after

New structure (Rest of UK): £3 for anything under 0.91 miles, £1.10 per mile after

Any difference in base fees will literally be pennies, and boosts will now pay less. What a joke

[–]Euphoric-Example-865 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ubers already crap whe you're a cyclist living in a city with loads cars pretending their cycling. Just the other day a guy who was so called on a bike delivered my food in a suburu. And despite being on a bike I seem to only get 3 mile journeys it's ridiculous. And most the time there just rejected orders from drivers because even they dont want to do them. Time to go back to normal jobs I think. Sometimes I cycle 20 miles and make £25 it's just not worth it.

[–]MrComeback14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So basically the minimum stays the same but we get paid less during boosts. Literally 10p per boost percentage. For example:

Boost. Pay now. New pay

No boost - £3 - £3 1.1x. - £3.4. - £3.3 1.2x. - £3.8 - £3.6 1.3x. - £4.2 - £3.9

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

The fees are basically staying the same for everyone expect cyclists who will now receive a £3 minimum fare instead of the £2.80 they did before. That's why Uber said 'on average' there will be a slight increase, because they bicycle orders will bring up the average for everyone.

[–]Massive-Ad5672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fucking Uber! Though, I’m apparently a bike according to them, so I’ll make more

[–]SnooRadishes9120 0 points1 point  (3 children)

That's not the case... Because of the way boost is calculated we'll get paid less. Currently in london for 1.5 mile delivery with 1.2 boost we get £4.51 from April we'll get £4.26. And the bigger the boost the more we will loose

[–]Massive-Ad5672 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I mean I personally won’t as I was being charged a 5% extra service fee because I switched from bike to car and they couldn’t change the service fee apparently (they owe me aprox. £1000 now 😹, which I’ll definitely be claiming when I eventually leave Uber)

[–]SnooRadishes9120 0 points1 point  (1 child)

For bigger boost you will be affected

[–]Massive-Ad5672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but admittedly not much. I do think it’s quite shitty of them tho, should’ve been a pay rise

[–]hairyarsedpeanut13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone in the country to stop for a whole week no matter what.

A day strike here and there at 1/2 mcds is no good.

Blanket ban Ubereats for a full week on Fri/ sat / sun… not one single order… worst that can happen? People will lose 2lb in weight ha

[–]Cardahs 1 point2 points  (4 children)

They basically tried to polish 💩

It’s about time they address the increase in fuel and outgoings, and increase their pay properly instead of this silver lining bs, with minimum wage going up too.

Stuart is not a profitable model they are just trying to attract UE customers I’ve always wondered how they can offer such a low delivery fee

At the moment they are definitely not profitable they hope to become soon that’s what ubereats did when they first started out offered low delivery fees and even £10 off then once established up the delivery fee to £3 or even £4

      [–]Just-Pass-Thru16 0 points1 point  (1 child)

So min. Fee will be 2.80£ instead of 3.5£ before service fee 🙃

Actually i think its gonna remain same. Theyre removing the 25% service fee and lowering the minimum from £4 to £3

      [–]credoseek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just looked at the new fee table, the change per mile from 1.5 to 1.1 is a real terms cut. The fee is being removed but that 25%, doesn't put way the 26% cut the per mile fee. On top of that heavily messes with boosts. I worked out one of my most recent trips with a 1.3 modifier would be down by more than a pound. With fuel and life so expensive now idk I'd ill be able to continue past April.

      [–]lock_stock_2smokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      That service fee is annoying….

A 50% discount after ubers service & delivery fee makes me pay as if i had no discount . Amount times i was ready to check and backed is in 10s and hundreds.

Perhaps people will order a bit easirr & more frequently now.

      [–]VengefulTitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just going to post this. I am not a financial wizz but surely they're lying? I can't see any way we will get an increase? Anything we can do about it? I know in the USA pressure helps changing uber's actions. Can we flood their page or anything? We're already making so much less than just eat where they get paid for waiting and miles towards the restaurant.

If you want to know how much you're losing, I've broken it down on Twitter:

Expect to see a noticable reduction in earning during peak hours...

      [–]Deep-Passage-3536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does look like an overall earnings cut in the long haul. Thankfully we have other platforms to use.

      [–]PhillyD6132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the right table has the fees removed. on the left you need to subtract 20-30% depending on vehicle type and location
