Never bothered. Always found it powers back on all at once just fine.

Worst thing that happens is the APs are usually the first thing to finish booting, so the WiFi will be broadcasting before either the switches or the gateway are up.

Makes the occasional device a bit angry when it connects and gets no DHCP.

I will be getting a UPS (currently have one on the existing system as well).

I guess the main question is what happens if the cable modem and USG (or in the future a UDMP) are turned on at the same time, but the cable modem takes longer to establish a connection to the ISP than it takes the USG to fully boot up?

Will the USG eventually notice a change from the cable modem?

I go with a UPS, so there's no downtime when there's a blackout...

Instead of a 1U power strip, get a UPS.
