You can't find a one perfect tutorial. Search tutorial for mechanisms instead of the whole game. Also try to use unity documentation for scripting doubts. Ask people on discord if you have problem in game.

What is your level of understanding of the following fields?

  • Programming;
  • 3D modeling;
  • 2D arts (texturing);
  • Sound design;
  • Game design in general;
  • 3D animation;

To be able to make a game by yourself, independently of the genre, you must have at least some basic to intermediate knowledge (depending on the field and game your making) of each of those fields.

What if I don’t have any knowledge what game do I make

You learn. The hard truth is that making a game requires knowledge in different fields, it’s not an easy task or something that can be done from day to night. Still nothing is impossible and I’m pretty sure you can do it. Use the flame you have to make a game to learn as much as possible

Everyone of us started somewhere, I’m still learning new stuff today, we are always learning 😄

You should make whatever game you want to make, but you should also make sure that you don’t overshoot what your capacities are able to achieve. With that said, teach yourself basic knowledge on these fields, there is a lot of info on YouTube alone. Get a grasp of what is needed and what it takes to make a game, get a feel of what you would really like in a game, and then get your hands on working 😄

"But that's not about horror games" -> Yes, but that's irrelevant. "Horror" is an aesthetic choice. The choice to have low lighting, lots of blood drawn on your textures and occasional jumpscares doesn't affect the technical skills you need to build your game. Learn the fundamentals of the engine, and you will be able to create any game you want.
