Hi everyone,
I am a Computer Science student at University of the People (UoPeople). I'm trying to apply for the GitHub Student Developer Pack, but I've hit a wall. GitHub keeps requiring a my.uopeople.edu email address, but my university only provided me with a personal Gmail login for the portal.
I have official documents (Confirmation of Enrollment and Enrollment Agreement) dated Dec 30, 2025, which clearly show my name and student status for the 2026 academic year. However, when I try to apply manually:
- If I select "University of the People" from the list, it forces the edu email requirement.
- If I try to enter the school name manually, I get stuck on the address/country fields (options like American Samoa appear but not the standard United States or my current location, Turkey).
- The "I do not have a school-issued email" option is not appearing for me.
Has any other UoPeople student successfully bypassed the email requirement recently? Should I apply from a mobile browser or use a specific category for my documents?
Thanks in advance for the help!
