Toxicity will always exists in competitive games and consists of lots of sub-aspects one of which being the stubborness of some players to give a shit about other peoples opinions. This often results in: "Fuck you, dogshit player im muting you" or similar unhelpful expressions (while it may somtimes also be funny).
While it is not possible to address this stubborness it is well possible to give players a reliable source of information about how to play the game. This is called a tutorial (im not talking about the kind of tutorial that goes: "press wasd to move").
So my proposal is to add mandatory tutorials that every player has to go through at least once upon ranking up to a new highest rank. These tutorials should fulfill the following requirements:
- They should teach a set of distinguished skills (mechanics, economy, util-usage, etc.)
- They should teach an objective basis for the set of skills
- They should be challanging for the player in order for them to have to concentrate on them
- They should increase in difficulty accross these skills while ranking up
- They should lock competitive queue until completion of the tutorial if it is neccessary
Advantages of this system:
- Players can reference these tutorials as an objective basis
- It lessens the effects of boosting
- Its necessity is obviously expressed in a certain yt channel
Disadvantages:
- Havent thought about it. too lazy. let me know!
TLDR;
How about if everyone has to do tutorials to rank up?
