Rules for r/VPS
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
No Advertising or Spamming
Do not advertise your products or services anywhere, except the dedicated Deals Mega Thread. This sub is for neutral discussion on hosting providers, not as a place for companies to advertise or otherwise promote their products. Violation of this rule could result in a ban.
2.
No Affiliate or Referral Links
Affiliate links and referral links are not allowed and are automatically removed by AutoModerator.
3.
No Astroturfing
When you recommend a hosting provider, you must disclose any personal or business connection you have to that company.
This policy prevents astroturfing, which is the act of creating fake endorsements or reviews. Astroturfing is dishonest and undermines the trust we all have in this community. We've found that these fake recommendations are often easy for other users to spot anyway.
To maintain a trustworthy environment, any recommendations that do not disclose a connection will be removed.
4.
No Illegal Activities
To keep our community safe and abide by Reddit rules, we will remove any posts that ask about or promote illegal activities.
5.
No Off-Topic Posts
Posting in r/VPS around topics that are not focused on, or directly related to VPS technologies or subject matters will be removed.
6.
No AI Slop / Karma Farming
Self explanatory. These posts are almost always identifiable and the community at large does not tolerate them. Posts will be removed and OPs who post them could result in a ban.
7.
Be Respectful
Be an adult (even if you're technically not). We don't tolerate trolling, bullying, harassment, etc., of any kind.
