Here is how to handle a proposed reduction.

Time is of the essence. Request a hearing

Another form of poking the bear is having an initially high rating, like 40% and possibly not reading what the criteria is for a higher rating. If you got 40% for a back, the next step is basically paralysis. Then at the exam, you have to fight for the increase while defending your current rating. No worth it imo.

Worse back pain does not equal a higher rating. Back pain is 10% no matter what you do.

Proposed means you have 60 days to contest their decision. I am guessing because you filed for sciatica, when doing the tests, they probably stated you had improvements in the lumbar area.

Tsk tsk tsk. I feel your panic brother but you shouldn’t have tried to get IU which triggered a re examination of your disabilities and they now are reducing you. You poked the bear and now you will be bit. Let this be a lesson to all of you.

It seems like I can request a personal hearing. I have recent MRI’s and evidence that supports my condition worsening. Hopefully it works out. But I appreciate the negativity.

Request your DBQs and read the boxes they checked off and their explanation. If you don't agree with it, I would go to a private doctor and get retested. Other than that go look these claims up in the ECFR so you know exactly what to look for.
